Why Not Love?™ is designed to restate the teachings of the New
Testament, to help us apply these teachings to make our lives richer,
fuller and healthier today, by making the Kingdom of Heaven something
that is attainable for us now, when we live the love-based life Jesus
teaches us.
Jesus’ Word of love has undergone many re-interpretations over
time.
The earliest reproduction of our scripture was first an oral and then
a written process – one copy at a time. During this manual process
of re-writing our scripture, the human tendency would be to make little
embellishments along the way.
Linguists have discovered evidence of the early editors of the New Testament
inserting a phrase here and a phrase there – to apply what they
were copying more directly to the current events of their time.
Charlemagne had his army paint the cross of Jesus on their shields before
going into battle; and the more battles his army won, the further “Christianity” spread.
I am a Christian; so for me this journey
back to the initial Word that is the genesis of my faith is a
journey back to the teachings of Jesus.
The overwhelming power of Jesus’ love – that is truly the
genesis of our faith – has been somewhat obscured as the Gospel
of Jesus has evolved over time. For example: Jesus never once mentioned
that He died for our sins.
This does not mean: Jesus did not die for our sins. The point is: nothing
should prevent us from experiencing the truly redemptive power of God’s
love in our lives that has been made so overwhelmingly evident in the
unambiguous selfless acts of love by Jesus.
Christianity has survived for over 2000 years because of the love of
God: that Jesus teaches and lives in His life of love; and that continues
today with us who follow Jesus’ example and live a life of love.
The Way it is plain:

Philip Yocom holds
a Master’s Degree in Divinity from Duke University.
The thrust of his scholastic education has been New Testament,
Ethics and Morals. His professional life has been devoted
to both building organizations and to turning around failing
companies.
Within two years of entering the business world, at the age of twenty-seven,
he became the youngest vice-president of an international company. Since
then, Philip has led the turn around of several businesses and has consistently
found success where others had been failing.
While many believe the Judeo-Christian message of Love sounds good on
a Sunday morning - but that the "real world" requires a different
way of life to survive, Philip’s life is testimony to the fact
that the Judeo-Christian principle of love is the key to a successful
life.
